Yay God!

The book of Psalms is not just one lament or prayer after another, or thoughts on good or bad deeds. It is also full of praise for God.

Psalm 67
  1.  To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song. May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, [Selah]
  2.  that thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving power among all nations.
  3. Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee!
  4.  Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for thou dost judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. [Selah]
  5.  Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee!
  6.  The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us.
  7. God has blessed us; let all the ends of the earth fear him!

Psa 68:19-20 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. [Selah] Our God is a God of salvation; and to GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death.

I have a hard time remembering to be thankful amidst all of the other prayers I have. Obviously we’re supposed to tell God of all of our needs, but sometimes I get so hung up on me I forget to thank God.  I don't know how I could do that though!  Not only did God do what was needed to bring us salvation, He constantly tugs at our hearts even when we are not paying attention to him.  He cares for us and loves us, just as a perfect parent!
